The Life 2.0 Show
The Life 2.0 Community is on a mission to help Professional Women reimagine their Life 2.0 using their passions and transferable skills/talents to open up a world of possibilities.
“The Life 2.0 Show” is part of that mission.
Our guests share how they have successfully transitioned into their Life 2.0-Second Act. The Life 2.0 Show also provides expert advice on some of the challenges we face and offers tips on how to continue or begin living a fulfilling Life 2.0.
What are the rules that you grew up with that now longer serve you? In this episode we discuss how some rules that we grew up with may longer serve us because of a changing society. We also discuss how changing your mind-set about your vision for your life and what you can achieve are important steps in your journey to creating a “purposeful” second act.
Simply put resilience is the ability to “bounce back” after traumatic events. The ability to be resilient in the face of adversity is what Sabrina and I discuss with our guest, Sharyn Murray, Station Manager at Princeton TV. After hearing Sharyn’s story, we knew that we had to share it with our audience. Sharyn’s resilence not only led her to overcome several major events in her life but also led her to creating a fulfillig Life 2.0-Second Act!
A Second Act That Honors A Grandmother
Joya Brown’s second act not only fulfills her dream as an entrepreneur but also honors her grandmother. She made a decision to leave her corporate job to fulfill a life long dream by starting Catherine’s Cottage. You will be inspired by this story that not only honors her grandmother but helps kids too.
Living Her Dream!
Many women discover their second act as a result of a major life event. But this was not the case for our guest, Carolyn Havrilla, who says “I am very blessed to be able to do what I love for a living – being an artist.” Carolyn’s second act was a result of making a decision to leave her corporate position and become a stay at home mom or what she calls a “professional mother”. She says that she never gave up on her dream to become a professional artist and is now living her dream and getting paid for it! What we also loved about Carolyn’s story is how she used her talents and skills from her corporate world to create her company, Connected Word which provides editing, marketing and writing services to non-profit organizations and independent schools.
We asked Carolyn to share her five take-away to tips to encourage other professional women to live their dream:
Organize your thoughts: Keep a Memo Book/Journal
Network: Keep the business cards/contact information from the people that you meet. You may need them for yourself and/or also to remember them if they need you. I use a binder but an electronic record works as well.
Character: Be genuine and validate others’ feelings. Every person has worth.
Manners: Be grateful. Write thank you notes.
Happiness: Keep a bottle of Champagne/sparkling cider in the refrigerator at the ready for life’s unexpected celebrations.

Nuture your body, mind and spirit.
Living a Fulfilling Second Act
Our conversation with Robyn of Robyn Graham Photograhy, LLC could have gone on for hours. What a joy to have the opportunity to talk with someone who has found her passion and purpose. Robyn is truly living a fulfilling a second act. She is a pefect example of someone who listened to that inner voice and had the courage to take that “leap of faith”. Her five-take aways will help you begin your journey:
Taking the first step to start anew is frightening, but that fear is often a sign that you are ont the right path. Take one step at a time, organize, plan and stay focused on the end goal.
Network and find a tribe of women that will support you, motivate you, build you up, and push you out of your comfort zone. You will find your tribe ultimately helps you survive and thrive. And, you will feel rewarded by helping them as well.
You want to create an emotional connection with your audience. You do this through visual content and through networking. It is an absolute must to step out from behind the scences and show people who you are, in person, especially through social media posts. The key is to be authenitc no matter the platform you are using.
Once you find your passion, embrace it and share it. Don’t hide it. Create your brand based upon your passion, your values, and your authenticity.
Once you identify your passion, find a way to use that passion to serve others, which willidentify where you want to go next.
